The African Palliative Care Association (APCA) warmly congratulates Dr Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, the newly elected President of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), Dr CS Pramesh, the incoming President-elect, and all members of the newly elected UICC Board of Directors for the 2026–2028 term. We wish you a successful and impactful term and look forward to continued collaboration towards a world where everyone affected by cancer has access to the care and support they need, wherever they live.
We extend special congratulations to Dr Zipporah (Zippy) Ali, and Dr Christian Ntizimira. Their election to the UICC Board is an opportunity to further strengthen the representation of African perspectives in global cancer control, and enhancing the continued integration of palliative care.
We also recognise the collective expertise, leadership and commitment that the newly elected Board brings to the global cancer community.
