Opportunities at APCA

The African Palliative Care Association (APCA) is a pan-African membership organisation located in Kampala Uganda. The organisation exists to ensure that palliative care is widely understood, integrated into health systems at all levels and underpinned by evidence to reduce pain and suffering associated with life-limiting illnesses across Africa. Palliative care is a field of health which prevents pain and suffering (physical, psychological, social and spiritual) associated with serious chronic life limiting illnesses such as cancer and HIV/AIDS.  The organisation currently has 4,055 individual and 1900 institutional members. APCA works through a network of national, regional and international partnerships.

We are currently seeking to give Volunteers a chance to work with APCA and support APCA’s work in the various departments in fields such as: Programmes management; Resource mobilisation through, grants and fundraising; Monitoring and Evaluation; ICT; Research; Access to essential medicines and technologies; and French and Portuguese translations.  These volunteer opportunities provide for options of working physically onsite or remotely for those based outside Uganda or Africa

They are totally volunteer opportunities for which skilled and experienced professionals are invited to contribute their skills and time towards a good cause in the health field for a time not exceeding 1 year. The opportunities are open to skilled young professionals, middle level professionals or retired persons who are willing to contribute to palliative care development in Africa.
