ICT and Videography Volunteer

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The ICT Volunteer will adopt existing photos and videos into powerful short video messages for dissemination mainly through social media, APCA website and ehospice.  The volunteer will also support the administration of APCA’s core network infrastructure.

Reports to:   ICT Manager
Location:
The post holder can either be based at the APCA Secretariat in Kampala, Uganda or work remotely from any part of the world.

Main areas of Responsibility

  • Develop APCA’s multimedia library into distributable short videos and printable media to increase awareness of palliative care
  • Develop video scripts for specific messages and audiences for use on short videos and documentaries on palliative care
  • Coordinate and manage logistical requirements for video and photography shooting sessions
  • Adopt existing videos and photos for short targeted palliative care messages
  • Disseminate the short palliative care video messages through APCA’s communication platforms and social media
  • Work with the ICT manager to maintain the network APCA’s network infrastructure.

Required skills

  • Ability to work with open sources tools to deliver high quality video messages.
  • Creative and innovative thinker who is able to bring to life different palliative care messages for different audiences appropriately through audio-visual technologies.
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Clear understanding of the spectrum of cultures across Africa.
